Talk is Cheap

Talk is Cheap was a performance by artists Jennifer and Kevin McCoy in collaboration with The Seeing Place and the Performance and Interactive Media Artists at Brooklyn College.  Visitors were able to check out radios during the run of the fair to listen to a live mix of music, ambient audio, and recordings of the Zero Art Fair community discussing the idea of value.

Cold Comfort by David Howe and Anita Cruz-Eberhard

These large floor pillows are covered with images from our Security Blankets series, where images of contemporary trauma confront the traditional softchildren's security blanket, provoking a disturbing cross-sensory conflict. Soft CarBomb, Soft Drought, Soft Tornado, Soft Hazmat, Soft Border Guard for example. Made of super plush fleece, the resulting mural-sized cozy contradictions are meant to be touched as well as seen, conveying opposite visual and tactile messages that confound the positive and negative implications of the word "security."

Cover size: 60x80 inches
Cover material: Dye-sublimation print on super-plush fleece
Pillow size: 66x15x45 inches
Pillow weight: 30-35 lbs
Pillow filling: Shredded foam

Lisa Levy's Tote Bags

Inspired by her “Thoughts in My Head” text painting series, artist Lisa Levy silkscreened these fun, shiny bags during the pandemic and sold them at her favorite holiday markets.  The bags were available to visitors for free as part of Zero Art Fair and were a great take away from the event.
